Diabetes T1D

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune condition that stays for a lifetime. It is typically diagnosed in childhood or early adulthood but can also occur at any point in life.

In the case of Type 1 diabetes, the body’s immune system attacks the beta cells in the pancreas that produce insulin and destroy them. Because the body needs insulin to survive, people with Type 1 diabetes have to replace this insulin daily, either by injection or through an insulin pump.
